Before It's Too Late.
A message from James Pryor of the EU Referendum Campaign
For far too long now, the political elite have played with, bounced about, cajoled, juggled and fuddled the issue of Britain’s membership of the EU. They have always managed to kick the issue into the long grass....leaving it there for the next time some of them want to play with it.
Any person or group who spoke out in favour of a referendum on our membership of the EU or even dared to question our membership, was branded a ‘fringe nutter’ or ‘extremist’ or ‘right-wing, swivel-eyed, little Englander’. The usual arguments of ‘we’ve already had a referendum’ or ‘millions of jobs depend on Britain being in the EU’, have almost always been their dismissive arguments they put forward.
It is not just about the £50 million we send to Brussels every day or the fact that the EU is a totally undemocratic institution or that the EU haven’t signed off their accounts for over 14 years or that over 75% of our laws are made in Brussels – it is about our right to determine our own future.
But now the EU crisis has reached a new level. The chickens have finally come home to roost.
The political elite can no longer kick the issue into the long grass. It is time for the great British public to stand up for their right.....their right to have a say. Let us not hand the issue back to the politicians so they can fudge it (again).
The issue is bigger than party politics. It is time for ordinary folk, whatever their political persuasion, to put aside their allegiances and come together to fight the bigger enemy.........

Cowardice When Under Fire From Big Brother

House approves CISPA despite last-minute push by opponents
A last-minute push by critics of a bill that would allow Internet companies to open their networks to the Feds didn't work. The House approved CISPA by a 248-168 vote.
This via Ian P.J is the type of thing that CISPA is intended to legalise (retroactively)

Stop ACTA
"We will not tolerate the Media Industries' lobbying for legistation which will censor the internet." Regarding Black March: If you want to do something that makes a statement, consider shifting your money not only away from corporate media but to independent media. Buy comics published by someone other than DC and Marvel. Buy books from small and independent presses. Support independent production companies who fight to stay independent and fan-focused. Better yet, buy things directly from creators and artisans. Support independent retailers. Don't just blanket punish media producers and distributors—refocus those resources into supporting the ones who espouse and depend on free exchange of information and ideas. Because those are the people preserving intellectual freedom. Those are the people creating work of substance. And those are the people struggling to make a living, because they aren't bankrolled by the Corporate Elite lobbying for SOPA, PIPA and ACTA
