Gordon's Brave New World.

The Prime Minister has previously hailed the potential for the internet to slash the costs of delivering services by reducing paper forms, face-to-face contact with officials, postage, phone calls and building costs.
He is now set to use a speech on Monday to unveil plans to give every voter a unique identifier allowing them to apply for school places, book GP appointments, claim benefits, get a new passport, pay council tax or register a car.

 If Gordon does allow an election and his party of illiberal shower of shits lose, he may just begin to appreciate how fucking stupid this and his other wet dreams are. It's going to bite you in the arse Gordon, you and the other morons who feed your dreams of dictatorship. It's getting real tough out here and we won't forget who it was that made it so.

The Whelanist Tendency.

Eric Pickles, the Tory chairman, published a document claiming that Unite, the union behind the British Airways cabin crew strike, had now established "an unprecedented grip" on Labour.
At a news conference, the Tories sought to present Unite's political director Charlie Whelan – a former spin doctor for Gordon Brown and who is heavily involved in Labour's election campaign – as a particularly sinister figure.

In a speech setting out how dependent the Labour Party is on Unite at the news conference Michael Gove spoke about "Charlie Whelan's New Militant Tendency".

 Gove said:

He's told us he thinks the strike is deplorable. But actions speak louder than words. Has Gordon Brown told Unite he won't accept any more of their money until they call off this action?

Has Gordon told Unite's general secretaries that he won't accept their efforts on his behalf until they've first guaranteed they won't bring down a great British company?

Has Gordon Brown told Charlie Whelan that it's wrong to unleash the forces of hell on families who want to get away this Easter and it's time to get back round the table?

How can Charlie Whelan simultaneously be the political director of a union which is paralysing British Airways at the same time as he's directing the political activities of Britain's prime minister?"

Not only is this Labour government failing to embrace the post-bureaucratic age, they are ushering in the second Mesozoic era, with a succession of dinosaurs trooping through Downing Street," Gove said.

There can be few more powerful forces of conservatism opposed to the flexibility, freedom and choice of the post-bureaucratic age than the Whelanist Tendency now in control of the Labour party.

Labour's re-unionisation has put them in bed with the past at a time when it is crucial that this country wakes up to the future."

Operation Fightback

Gordon is on the warpath:

After nearly 13 years in Government, Labour is telling its activists that they should not use the party’s achievements in power when seeking votes at the election.

At a pre-election rally in the West Midlands, Mr Brown will warn his party to frame the election not as a chance to pass judgement on the Labour Government.

Instead, he will attack the Conservatives, as the party admitted in a leaflet for candidates that voters are attracted to David Cameron’s message of change

Shame You couldn't have come up with a slogan of your own Gordon. The BNP are already using that one here.

Reality Escapes

The budget deficit - the difference between government spending and the income it receives through taxation and other sources - is expected to be more than £170bn or 12.6% of GDP in the current financial year one of the highest of any major economy.
the government had to borrow a further £4.3bn last month to help cover the deficit.

Last month was the first time since records began the government had to borrow money in January, usually a bumper month for income from tax receipts.

Gordon Brown reiterated that there would have to be tax rises and cuts in spending to reduce the deficit.

"We have been crystal clear that we will halve the deficit over the next four years - indeed, more than halve it," he said.

I'm fucking scared now, Gordy old bean and it isn't the Tories that are frightening me.

Relations between Rupert Murdoch's News International and the government disintegrated today during 24 hours of recriminations over the move by its flagship paper, the Sun, to switch allegiance to the Conservatives.

Gordon Brown moved quickly to deny any political damage, saying: "It is the people who decide elections." But on one occasion the prime minister was clearly tested, tearing at his ear piece when he made an irritated and overly hasty departure from one TV interview, prompting aides to clarify later it had not been an angry "walkout".

Will Dolly Be The One That Finally Does For Brown?

That’s why he has written the letter, that’s why he wants Watson in place. Without him he is totally exposed.

I think smear gate may be the end for Gordon.

Tonight, John Prescott has called for Draper to be sacked.

The Prime Minister has few people he can trust; Watson is reportedly one of them. Watson is also a great facilitator. The go between people like Draper, Mc Bride and the PM and MPs. All seeing, all hearing.

If Watson went one could assume it would be a huge personal blow to the Prime Minister as he will have lost his right and left hand men in the space of days.

The Prime Minister can state he didn’t know what was happening and we can choose whether or not to believe him. However, who would believe that the Cabinet Minister, Tom Watson, whose desk was right next door to Damian McBride’s, and who was I have been told, mentioned in the emails, didn’t know?

John Prescott:

I’ve always believed as a Labour activist that we should campaign on the issues and the politics. But smear campaigns - be they in the newspapers or on the internet - are fundamentally wrong and only help to poison the political debate.

I understand one man has left his job at No10 – and quite rightly so. I believe Derek Draper should now follow him too.

He is not a paid official or even employed by the Labour Party and was just a voluntary adviser on new media.

But I’m sure that that the General Secretary will and should make clear that such advice is totally unacceptable and not wanted.

Tom Watson Denies Involvement

Tom Watson has contacted me directly to deny any involvement in the whole McBride/Draper black propaganda caper.

I rather feel that he ought to have noticed what was going on immediately around him. But the evidence implicating him was circumstantial, and my enquiries today of people who know him personally seem to indicate that he is not a vicious character.

So I accept his statement.

I have today sent the following to Tom Watson MP:

Dear Mr Watson,

This is a formal communication to you in your ministerial capacity. I write as a former senior civil servant and a life member of the FDA.

It appears to me that there is the clearest of prima facie cases that Mr Damian McBride has committed the criminal offence of misconduct in public office. There appears a strong prima facie case also against Mr Charles Whelan.

I believe that you have a ministerial duty to draw this concern to the attention of the appropriate police authorities so that an investigation may be undertaken. No doubt you will wish to consult the Cabinet Secretary, but in the case of a credibly alleged breach of the criminal law, not only of the Civil Service Code, I believe you are also under an obligation to consult the police.
